We welcome and encourage alumni participation in a wide range of services and activities at NJCU. Alumni assist in the planning of networking sessions and reunions, engage with students in fields of mutual interest, and are present to greet prospective students and their parents during Open House. In reaching out to talented young people in their communities, many alumni also play an important role in student recruitment. Others share a “real world” perspective with students during classes, public forums, and career networking events.
Alumni and Student Entrepreneurs - Alumni who are interested in starting their own businesses or already have, should consider attending NJCU’s entrepreneur workshops. Participants have an opportunity to meet and network with NJCU alumni entrepreneurs, students, and faculty, as well as leaders from NJCU’s Business Development Incubator (BDI) and the New Jersey Small Business Development Center based at the BDI.
Hosting an Event - If you’d like to organize a reunion of classmates or are interested in meeting alumni from your surrounding geographic area, please contact us.
NJCU Day - All alumni are invited to return to campus for NJCU Day, which next year is set for Saturday, September 23, 2017. Please join the New Jersey City University community and your classmates for the festivities, which will include reunions for alumni celebrating milestone years, tours of campus and Jersey City, a variety of learning tracks including the arts, entrepreneurship, financial literacy led by NJCU faculty and other experts, an outdoor barbecue, activities for family, performances by students from the Caroline L. Guarini Department of Music, Dance and Theatre, and much more!
Alumni Reunions - Alumni celebrating milestone anniversaries will be feted at this event. Those observing their 50th Anniversary become members of the Golden Gothics, a distinguished group of alumni that graduated 50 or more years ago. Alumni celebrating other milestone anniversaries, including the 60th, 40th, 25th, 10th and the newest graduates are also celebrated at NJCU Day.
Golden Gothics Commencement - The Golden Gothics are distinguished guests at the University’s annual commencement ceremony. Robed in academic attire, Golden Gothics join the procession, are seated at the front of the assemblage and recognized from the podium for their important role in providing continuity in the University’s mission.
